What is the PADI IDC about?
The PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) is a program that groups two courses: the PADI Assistant Instructor (AI) course and the PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) program. These two certifications are the most popular and sought after worldwide, because they indicate that you have completed a leading program with the highest standards for dive training professionals. Why choose Oceano Scuba as your training center?
Oceano Scuba Dive Center has more than 35 years of experience in the training of Divers with Purpose, with the highest levels of training and environmental awareness. Throughout the year we receive thousands of people from all over the world to explore the waters of the Tayrona Natural Park and to get certified in all levels of training, which has made us the most active PADI Professional Development Center in Colombia and one of the most active in South America.
In Oceano Scuba you will have 15 days of training, which includes two days of preparation (pre-IDC), in which each candidate will have the opportunity to reinforce their skills and review previous knowledge from the hand of the best instructors, to start the instructor course 100% prepared. It also includes Buoyancy and Coral Restoration seminars, which will allow us to project the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy and Coral Reef Conservation instructor level certifications; in this last one we will have a visit to our nurseries and restorations inside the Tayrona Park (RC).
The PADI Dive Against Debris and Oxygen Provider Instructor specialties will be included in this program, as we know that the current market requires more and more instructors with training in the different specialties with environmental purposes. The O2 Provider specialty ensures that you can teach Rescue and First Aid courses and is also a prerequisite to work in several countries.
In addition, you will have unlimited dives for one year in our training center, starting from the completion of your instructor course.
I want to welcome you to Oceano Scuba Dive Center, the most active professional diver development center in Colombia and the first dive school in Colombia.
My name is Hernando Bonilla, PADI Course Director, manager of Oceano Scuba, professional diver for more than 17 years and instructor for more than 12 years. I am an industrial engineer by profession and, like you, I am an innate lover of the sea and the magical creatures that inhabit it.

Peak Performance Buoyancy and Coral Reef Conservation certifications for which we added a coral restoration talk and a visit to our nurseries and restorations inside the Tayrona Park.
The PADI DADI specialty (Dive Against Debris), because we faithfully believe in the formation of committed and conscious divers and we know that the market increasingly demands instructors with training in the different specialties with an environmental purpose.
The PADI O2 provider specialty, since it is mandatory in several countries to be able to work, allows us to fully teach Rescue and First Aid courses. And most importantly the skills to react to a real emergency.
If you are an instructor from another WRSTC recognized organization, you can join our IDC, we advise you to participate in the PRE-IDC (first two days of the course) to review skills and dive theory and to level some skills or criteria. Contact us for more information.
